USA: create a bike that absorbs smog by " photosynthesis "
Fast Company has designed a bike capable of purifying the air as you pedal , called " Photosynthesis Bike" .
Bicycles are a clean and efficient mode of transport, which contributes to your health and care for the environment. But what happens if a bike can perform more than one function , earning even more points for efficiency ? Answer that question is a group of Thai designers and engineers has developed a plan to convert the bike into a machine that actually cleans the contaminated air while browsing the street.
Obviously the concept is only made for the moment , but things can change around , as the company Lightfog Bangkok is responsible for this masterpiece to make reality.
"In theory, its aluminum frame would be implemented in a" system of photosynthesis "that generates oxygen through a reaction between water and electrical power from a lithium-ion battery .
" We want to design products that can reduce air pollution in the city, so we decided to design a bike because we think that bicycles are environmentally friendly transport vehicles ," explains creative director Silawat Virakul in an email to Co.Exist . " Cycling can reduce traffic jam in a city. Moreover , we wanted to add more value to a bike by adding the ability to reduce pollution."
The bike could exist comfortably , but still needs more studies , such as battery, or products used. At the moment we have to wait and who knows, in a few years to see these fantastic bikes and literally suck the smog street with our help.
But for now , we can enjoy the variety that already exist in the market and go cycling around the world.
